Devotional: Genesis 1:3

Imagine the utter darkness, the formless void, before God spoke. Then, with a single, powerful command – 'Let there be light' – everything changed. Light burst forth, dispelling the blackness and setting the stage for all creation. This simple verse in Genesis reminds us of God's incredible power and His ability to bring order and beauty out of chaos, light out of darkness. When we face our own 'dark' seasons – times of confusion, fear, or uncertainty – it's easy to feel overwhelmed. But just as God spoke light into existence, He can speak light into our lives today. He can illuminate our path, clarify our purpose, and bring hope where there was despair. We are called to trust in His word, knowing that His power to create and transform is boundless. Let His light shine through your challenges today.

Heavenly Father, we stand in awe of Your majestic power, a power that spoke light into being with a single word. We confess that sometimes our own lives feel like a formless void, shrouded in darkness. We ask, Lord, that You would speak Your light into our situations today. Illuminate our path, dispel our fears, and guide us with Your divine wisdom. Help us to remember that no darkness is too great for Your light to penetrate. May Your glory shine brightly through us and in us, for Your name's sake. Amen.
