Devotional: 2 Chronicles 9:23

The story of King Solomon is a powerful reminder of how God can use ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary things. The kings of the earth sought Solomon, not for his military might or his vast riches, but for the wisdom that God had placed within him. This wasn't wisdom Solomon earned; it was a divine gift, freely given and profoundly impactful. Imagine the awe these rulers must have felt, encountering a man whose counsel flowed from a heavenly source. This passage encourages us to remember that we also carry a divine gift – the Holy Spirit within us. Through Him, we have access to wisdom, discernment, and understanding far beyond our own capabilities. When we lean on God, seeking His guidance in our daily decisions, our lives can become a testament to His wisdom. Others may not seek us out as kings sought Solomon, but our actions, words, and even our quiet demeanor can reflect the light of Christ, drawing others to the Source of all wisdom. Let's pray for open hearts to receive and live out the wisdom God has placed within us.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the incredible example of Solomon and the wisdom You bestowed upon him. We confess that often we rely on our own understanding. Forgive us, Lord. We pray for a greater measure of Your wisdom in our own lives, not for our glory, but so that we might honor You and bless those around us. Help us to draw near to You, to listen for Your voice, and to allow the Holy Spirit to guide our every step. May our lives be a reflection of Your divine counsel. Amen.
