Devotional: Isaiah 19:12

Isaiah 19:12 carries a potent question, challenging the wisdom of man against the unshakeable counsel of God. 'Where are they? where are thy wise men?' This isn't just about Egypt; it's a timeless reminder that human plans and understanding, no matter how sophisticated, pale in comparison to the sovereign purposes of the Lord of hosts. In our own lives, we often rely on our own intellect, our trusted advisors, or the latest trends to navigate complexities. We meticulously plan and strategize, only to find our efforts sometimes fall short. This verse beckons us to pivot our gaze. When confronted with uncertainty or when our best efforts seem insufficient, where do we turn? Do we seek the Lord's unveiled purposes? Let us remember that true wisdom begins with Him. He is the ultimate strategist, and His plans for us are always good, even when we don't fully comprehend them.

Heavenly Father, we come before You, acknowledging Your supreme wisdom and authority. Forgive us, Lord, when we lean too heavily on our own understanding or the wisdom of this world. Open our eyes to see Your purposes, even when they seem hidden. Help us to trust in Your perfect plan for our lives, knowing that You are the Lord of hosts, and Your counsel stands forever. Guide our steps, illuminate our paths, and grant us the discernment to align our hearts with Your divine will. May Your wisdom be our ultimate source of truth and direction. Amen.
