Devotional: Ezekiel 44:7

Ezekiel 44:7 is a powerful reminder of God's holiness and His rightful expectation for our reverence. The Israelites allowed those who were outwardly and inwardly 'uncircumcised' to defile His sanctuary, symbolizing a compromised faith and a polluted spiritual space. Today, we are God's sanctuary, His dwelling place (1 Corinthians 3:16). How often do we allow 'strangers', worldly attitudes, ungodly thoughts, or impure motives, to take root in our hearts, polluting the sacred space God intends for holiness? This isn't about legalism, but about a sincere desire to honor God with every part of our being. Let this verse encourage you to examine your inner sanctuary. Are there areas you've allowed to become defiled by things that grieve the Holy Spirit? Seek to purify your heart, inviting God to cleanse and consecrate you anew. Live a life that truly reflects His glory, making your heart a true sanctuary for Him.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, acknowledging Your supreme holiness. Forgive us for the times we have allowed 'strangers', ungodly thoughts, impure motives, and worldly desires, to defile the sanctuary You have made within us. Cleanse us, Lord, by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Circumcise our hearts, making us truly devoted to You. Help us to guard our inner sanctuary, so that we may always offer You worship that is pure and pleasing. May our lives be a true reflection of Your glory. Amen.
