Devotional: John 15:10

John 15:10 offers us a profound insight into the nature of divine love and our relationship with Christ. Jesus tells us that if we keep His commandments, we will abide in His love, just as He abides in the Father's love by keeping His commandments. This isn't about earning love, but rather about living in a way that allows us to fully experience and remain in its embrace. Imagine a constant current of love flowing from God, through Christ, and into us. Our obedience acts like an open conduit, allowing that love to flow freely. When we choose to follow His teachings – to love God, love our neighbor, forgive, and serve – we are intentionally positioning ourselves within the very heart of His affection. It's a joyful surrender that deepens our connection and fills us with His peace. Let today be a day where we diligently seek to know and obey His commands, not out of burden, but out of a desire to dwell perpetually in the warmth of His abiding love.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the incredible promise of abiding in Your love through Christ. Forgive us for the times we stray from Your commands, closing ourselves off from the fullness of Your affection. Help us, Lord Jesus, to understand and embrace Your teachings, not as a burdensome list, but as a pathway to deeper intimacy with You. Strengthen our resolve to live in obedience, knowing that in doing so, we remain intertwined with Your perfect love. May our lives be a testament to Your grace and our hearts continually dwell in Your peace. Amen.
