Devotional: Exodus 15:22

“So Moses brought Israel from the Red sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water.”

Exodus 15:22

Reflection

Imagine the elation, the sheer relief, as the Israelites crossed the Red Sea. Freedom! Yet, just three days later, they faced a harsh reality: no water in the Wilderness of Shur. Their joy quickly turned to despair. How many times have we experienced similar emotional whiplash in our own lives? We celebrate a victory, a answered prayer, only to be confronted with a new challenge that feels just as daunting. This verse reminds us that true faith isn't just for the mountaintops, but for the valleys too. God led them *through* the Red Sea *into* the wilderness. He knew the thirsty days were coming. He knows our wilderness seasons too. He doesn't promise an easy journey, but He does promise His presence and provision every step of the way. Even when we can't see the water, we can trust the Water Giver.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, we thank You that You are with us in every season, even the dry and thirsty wilderness. Forgive us for our moments of doubt when the challenges seem to overwhelm us. Help us to remember that just as You led Israel, You lead us. Open our eyes to Your constant presence and provision, even when we can't immediately see it. Strengthen our faith to trust Your plan, knowing that You are the Water Giver for our weary souls. Amen.
