Devotional: Daniel 6:15

Daniel 6:15 paints a picture of immutable law, a decree that, once established, could not be altered. For Daniel, this meant facing a den of lions, a consequence of his unwavering devotion to God. While we may not face literal lions' dens today, we often encounter situations where circumstances or human decisions seem unchangeable and insurmountable. We might feel trapped by a diagnosis, a financial struggle, a broken relationship, or a systemic injustice. It's in these moments that we're called to remember who truly holds authority. The laws of man, however rigid, are always secondary to the unfailing, unchanging decrees of our sovereign God. My friend, when you face what seems like an unchangeable decree in your life, remember Daniel. His faith wasn't in the king's law, but in the King of Kings. Your hope is not in the mutability of human systems, but in the immutable character and power of God, who can still make a way where there seems to be no way. Trust in His unwavering wisdom and His unfailing love.

Heavenly Father, we come before You acknowledging that You are the ultimate authority, and Your decrees are perfect and true. Forgive us for the times we place our trust in human systems or despair when faced with seemingly unchangeable circumstances. Help us to remember Daniel's courageous faith when we encounter situations that feel irreversible. Grant us the grace to look beyond the laws of man and fix our eyes on Your unchanging character and boundless power. Strengthen our hearts to trust that You can intervene, even when all hope seems lost. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
