Devotional: Mark 14:27

Imagine the weight of those words from Jesus on the eve of His crucifixion. He knew precisely what was coming – not just for Himself, but for His beloved disciples. He warned them they would all be "offended" or stumble because of Him. This wasn't a rebuke, but a profound act of love and realism. He knew their faith would be tested in a way they couldn't yet comprehend. Have you ever felt scattered, lost, or stumbled in your faith when life threw an unexpected curveball? Perhaps a betrayal, a loss, or a dream shattered. In those moments, it's easy to feel alone, just as the disciples must have. But remember, Jesus knew this would happen. He understands our human frailty and the moments when our faith falters. His prophecy wasn't a condemnation, but a preparation for His ultimate victory. He knew that even when scattered, He would gather us back. We can take immense comfort in knowing He sees our struggles and has already paved the way for our return.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, acknowledging our own weaknesses and moments of doubt. Just as the disciples were scattered, we too sometimes feel lost when trials come. Forgive us for our faltering faith and for the times we stumble. Help us to remember that Your Son, Jesus, understood our human condition and prepared the way for our redemption. Strengthen us, Lord, to remain steadfast even when things feel chaotic. Reassure us of Your constant presence and guide us back to Your fold when we stray. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
