Devotional: 2 Timothy 1:1

Paul, an apostle 'by the will of God,' reminds us from the very outset of this letter that our calling, our purpose, and ultimately our life itself, are not random occurrences but divine appointments. This isn't just about apostles like Paul; it applies to each one of us who has placed our faith in Christ. We are not here by accident. Your existence is a promise of life, rooted and secured 'in Christ Jesus.' What a comforting and empowering truth! When life feels uncertain, or when you question your own value or direction, remember that your life is intrinsically tied to God's will and His unwavering promise. This promise isn't contingent on your performance but on His grace. Live today knowing you are purposefully placed, deeply loved, and eternally secure in His hands.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the profound truth that my life is by Your will, a promise found and fulfilled in Christ Jesus. Forgive me for the times I doubt my purpose or feel adrift. Help me to grasp the depth of Your intentionality in creating me and calling me to Yourself. Strengthen my faith in Your promises, especially the promise of life that is mine in Jesus. May I live each day with the awareness of Your divine placement and unwavering love, fulfilling the unique purpose You have for me. Amen.
