Devotional: Psalms 63:11
“But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.”
Psalms 63:11
Reflection
Psalm 63:11 offers a powerful contrast and a profound promise. It speaks of the joy found in God, not just for kings, but for 'every one that sweareth by him' – those who commit themselves to Him and live in His truth. In a world often filled with uncertainty and deceit, this verse reminds us where true rejoicing is found: in our faithful God. When we anchor our lives in Him, our hope becomes unshakeable, and our joy transcends circumstances. The latter part of the verse, a stark declaration that 'the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped,' provides comfort. It assures us that in God's perfect justice, truth will ultimately prevail, and falsehood will be silenced. Let this encourage you today to plant your feet firmly in His truth, knowing that your commitment to Him brings lasting joy and aligns you with His eternal victory.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the truth found in Your Word, especially in Psalm 63:11. We pray for a heart that rejoices fully in You, Lord. Help us to be those who 'swear by You,' living out our commitment and faith in every area of our lives. Equip us with discernment to recognize and reject falsehood, both from others and within our own thoughts. May we always speak truth and walk in integrity. We trust in Your ultimate victory, knowing that all lies will be silenced, and Your truth will reign supreme. Amen.
