Devotional: Nahum 1:15

Nahum 1:15 paints a picture of glorious anticipation – the feet of one bringing good tidings and publishing peace! Imagine the joy and relief in Judah as they hear this message. For us today, who are these feet? They are the feet of those who bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the ultimate good news and the only lasting peace. In a world often filled with distress and brokenness, we are called to be those messengers. We have the privilege of sharing the peace that surpasses all understanding, a peace rooted in Christ's finished work on the cross. This verse also reminds us to hold fast to our spiritual disciplines – keeping our 'solemn feasts' and performing our 'vows' to God. As we faithfully walk with Him, we can trust that He is sovereign, and ultimately, all wickedness will be utterly cut off through His righteous judgment and perfect plan. Let us be encouraged to joyfully share His peace today, knowing our labor in the Lord is never in vain.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the good tidings of peace that come through Your Son, Jesus Christ. We pray for open hearts and willing feet, that we might be Your messengers, proclaiming Your peace to a weary world. Help us to faithfully keep our promises to You, to draw near in worship, and to trust in Your ultimate victory over all wickedness. Strengthen us, Lord, to live as beacons of hope and peace in our daily lives. Amen.
