Devotional: 1 John 4:2

In a world full of voices and claims, it can be challenging to discern what is truly from God. John provides us with a clear, foundational test: does it acknowledge Jesus Christ, fully human, fully divine? This isn't just a theological puzzle; it's a deeply practical truth. When we encounter teachings, spiritual experiences, or even our own thoughts, we're invited to hold them up to the light of Christ's incarnation. Did Jesus truly come in the flesh? Yes! He lived among us, experienced our joys and sorrows, and ultimately died and rose again. This truth grounds our faith and gives us confidence. If a spirit, a teaching, or an idea does not affirm this central truth, it's not from God. Let this verse be a comforting guide, helping you to stand firm on the unshakeable foundation of who Jesus is.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the clear guidance found in Your Word. We pray for discernment in a world filled with many voices. Help us to always recognize and embrace the truth that Jesus Christ came in the flesh, a cornerstone of our faith. Strengthen our spirits to stand firm on this confession, allowing it to be our guide in all things. May our lives reflect this foundational truth, bringing You glory. Amen.
