Devotional: Jeremiah 29:15
“Because ye have said, The LORD hath raised us up prophets in Babylon;”
Jeremiah 29:15
Reflection
Jeremiah 29:15 reveals a moment when the Israelites in captivity in Babylon believed God was still raising up prophets among them, even in a foreign land. They clung to the hope that God's voice would not be silenced, even in exile. This verse reminds us that God is actively at work, even in the most unexpected and difficult seasons of our lives. When we feel displaced, lost, or far from where we believe we should be, it's easy to assume God has withdrawn. But like the Israelites, we can trust that God’s presence and guidance are not limited by our circumstances. He continues to speak, to lead, and to provide, often through avenues we might not initially recognize. Let us seek His voice today, knowing He is intimately involved in every chapter of our story, even in our own 'Babylon'.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your unwavering presence, even in times of uncertainty and displacement. Just as You raised up prophets in Babylon, we pray that You would open our eyes and ears to discern Your voice in our own lives, especially when we feel far from You. Help us to trust that Your plans for us are good, and that You are actively at work, guiding us through every season. Strengthen our faith, Lord, and transform our hearts to always seek Your wisdom. Amen.
