Devotional: 1 Peter 5:7

Life can often feel like an overwhelming burden, a heavy backpack filled with worries, anxieties, and fears. We try to carry it all ourselves, sometimes out of a sense of responsibility, other times because we believe no one else truly understands our struggles. But today's verse from 1 Peter offers a profound invitation and a comforting truth: "Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you." Imagine the relief of unburdening yourself, of literally throwing off the weight you've been carrying and entrusting it to someone infinitely capable and loving. God isn't just someone who *can* handle your cares; He *wants* to. He cares for you personally, intimately, and completely. This isn't a passive release, but an active choice to surrender your anxieties to the One who knows every hair on your head and every beat of your heart. Let go of the need to control, and lean into His perfect care. You are not alone in your struggles; you are deeply loved and watched over.

Heavenly Father, I come before You today, acknowledging the many cares and worries that weigh heavily on my heart. I confess that I often try to carry them myself, forgetting the immense love and power You possess. Forgive my doubt and my attempts to control what only You can truly manage. I choose now to cast all my anxieties, fears, and burdens upon Your strong and loving shoulders, just as Your Word commands. Thank You for caring for me with such tenderness and faithfulness. Help me to truly rest in Your unchanging love and peace, knowing You are always at work for my good. Amen.
