Devotional: Zephaniah 3:13
“The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid.”
Zephaniah 3:13
Reflection
Zephaniah 3:13 paints a beautiful picture of redemption and security. Imagine a life where deceit and lies have no place, where your words are always truthful, and your actions are pure. This isn't just a distant hope; it's a promise for God's faithful remnant, a promise of peace that transcends worldly anxieties. In a world often filled with fear and uncertainty, this verse reminds us that true security comes from living in alignment with God's will. When we strive to speak truth and live righteously, we find a sanctuary for our souls. We can 'feed and lie down' in His promises, trusting that He is our ultimate protector. Let us examine our hearts today, asking where we might be allowing deceit or compromise to creep in, and embrace the freedom that comes from living a life of integrity before God.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the incredible promise in Zephaniah 3:13, a vision of truth and peace. We confess that our tongues can sometimes stray from truth, and our actions from righteousness. Forgive us, Lord. We pray for a spirit of integrity to fill us, that our words may always be honest and our lives a reflection of Your holiness. Help us to trust in Your provision and protection, finding rest and security in Your unfailing love. May we, Your remnant, never do iniquity, but instead live lives that honor You and draw others to Your amazing grace. Amen.
