Devotional: 2 Timothy 4:19
“Salute Prisca and Aquila, and the household of Onesiphorus.”
2 Timothy 4:19
Reflection
Paul, even in the midst of his impending trial and likely execution, took the time to send greetings to specific individuals. This isn't just a footnote; it's a profound reminder of the value of community and recognizing those who serve the Lord. Prisca and Aquila were faithful co-workers, and Onesiphorus had refreshed Paul when others had abandoned him. Paul’s simple 'salute' speaks volumes about the importance of acknowledging the contributions and presence of fellow believers. In our busy lives, it's easy to overlook these small acts of recognition. But a heartfelt greeting, a word of thanks, or a simple acknowledgment can be a powerful affirmation of someone's walk with Christ. Let us intentionally look around today and appreciate the 'Priscas and Aquilas' and 'Onesiphoruses' in our own lives, those who faithfully serve and support.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of community and for the faithful servants You place in our lives. Open our eyes to see and appreciate those around us who, like Prisca, Aquila, and Onesiphorus, quietly or boldly serve Your kingdom. Help us to be quick to offer encouragement, a kind word, or a simple greeting that affirms their worth in Your sight. May our interactions reflect the love and gratitude found in Your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
