Devotional: 1 Peter 2:5

Imagine yourself as a stone, but not a cold, inert one. Peter calls us "lively stones," vibrantly alive in Christ! This verse reminds us that we aren't just isolated individuals, but integral parts of God's magnificent spiritual house. Each of us, redeemed and transformed, contributes to this divine structure, making us an "holy priesthood." What does a priest do? They offer sacrifices. For us, these aren't animal sacrifices, but "spiritual sacrifices" – our worship, our service, our obedience, our acts of love and justice, and even our surrendered lives. These offerings, made through faith in Jesus, are not only accepted but are pleasing to God. Today, remember your vital role. You are chosen, alive, and purposed to bring glory to God through your everyday living. Let your life be a beautiful, spiritual offering.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the incredible truth that You see us as lively stones, building blocks in Your spiritual house. Thank You for making us a holy priesthood through Jesus Christ, empowering us to offer spiritual sacrifices that are acceptable to You. Help us, Lord, to live lives that reflect this truth – lives of worship, service, and love. May our daily actions, thoughts, and words be pleasing offerings presented through Your Son. Strengthen us to fulfill this divine calling. Amen.
