Devotional: 1 Thessalonians 5:28

“The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.”

1 Thessalonians 5:28

Reflection

What a beautiful benediction Paul offers at the close of his letter to the Thessalonians: "The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen." This isn't just a polite closing; it's a profound declaration of God's unmerited favor and active presence in our lives. Think about what it means for grace to *be with you*. It means that in every challenge, every decision, every moment of weakness or joy, the empowering, sustaining, and forgiving love of Jesus is there, not just as a concept, but as a living reality. When you feel overwhelmed, remember His grace is sufficient. When you feel unworthy, His grace reminds you of your value. Today, let this verse resonate deeply. Know that you don't face anything alone or in your own strength. The very grace of our Lord Jesus Christ continually surrounds you, equips you, and upholds you. Rest in that truth.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for the incredible gift of Your grace through our Lord Jesus Christ. We pray that Your grace would indeed be with us today, guiding our steps, softening our hearts, and empowering us to live for Your glory. When we feel inadequate, remind us of Your sufficiency. When we stumble, draw us back with Your loving kindness. May Your unmerited favor be evident in every aspect of our lives, now and always. Amen.
